Qin Opera, also known as "Bangzi Opera", is one of the oldest dramas of the Han Chinese. It began in the Western Zhou Dynasty and matured in the Qin Dynasty. One of the national intangible cultural heritage.

In ancient times, Shaanxi and Gansu belonged to the Qin State, so they were called "Qin Opera". Because Zaomu clappers were often used to play accompaniment in early Qinqiang performances, it was also called "Bangziqiang". After the formation of Qin Opera, it spread throughout the country. Because of its complete set of mature and complete performance system, it has had varying degrees of influence on various opera genres, and directly influenced Bangzi Opera to become the ancestor of Bangzi Opera. Qin Opera's performance skills are simple, rough, bold, exaggerated, strong in life, and rich in skills.

On May 20, 2006, it was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists with the approval of the State Council. Intangible cultural heritage number: Ⅳ-16.
