On January 23rd local time, Brazilian President Lula announced that Brazil will offer visa-free access to some short-term visa categories for Chinese citizens, in response to the visa-free policy that China has implemented for Brazilian citizens starting from 2025. The implementation date of the policy has yet to be announced.

The presidential palace of Brazil issued a statement saying that in the context of increasingly close relations between China and Latin America as well as other countries, this move is aimed at promoting personnel exchanges between China and Latin America and other regions.
