Datang Furong Garden is located in Qujiang Development Zone, south of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, on the southeast side of Dayan Pagoda. It was rebuilt in the style of the Tang Dynasty royal garden to the north of the original Tang Dynasty Furong Garden site. It is the first full-scale display in China. A large-scale royal garden-style cultural theme park in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, covering an area of 1,000 acres, including 300 acres of water area.
The construction of Datang Furong Garden started in 2002 and was completed in 2004. It was officially opened to the public on April 11, 2005 (the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar). There are many antique buildings in Datang Furong Garden, such as Ziyun Tower, Ladies Hall, Yuyan Palace, Xingyuan, Fanglin Garden, Fengming Jiutian Theater, Tangshi, etc. It is the largest imitation of Tang Dynasty imperial buildings in China. The scenic area is owned by the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Academician Zhang Jinqiu is responsible for the overall planning and architectural design.
On January 17, 2011, it was rated as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration. At the 2018 China Northwest Tourism Marketing Conference and Tourism Equipment Exhibition, it was shortlisted for the "100 Wonderful Northwestern Scenery" list.
Datang Furong Garden Scenic Area will implement free reservations for admission from August 1, 2020.
