  1. The Chinese Permanent Residence Identity Card is a legal identification document for foreign nationals who have obtained the qualification to reside in China and can be used independently.

  2. Foreigners who have obtained permanent residency in China are required to use both their Chinese permanent residence ID card and passport when entering or leaving the country, although they do not require a visa and have no limit on the number of times.

  3. Foreigners who have obtained permanent residency in China do not need to confirm in advance whether the hotel can accommodate them. They can also use their Chinese permanent residency ID card to stay in the hotel and cooperate with the accommodation procedures. But for those who reside or stay in other accommodations outside of hotels, they still need to apply for temporary accommodation registration with the local public security organs within 24 hours after check-in. Those who fail to declare accommodation registration to the public security organs or stay overnight with foreign nationals who do not hold valid documents, even if the foreign nationals obtain permanent residency in China, will still be punished with warnings or fines in accordance with the law.

  4. The validity period of the Chinese permanent residence identity card is five or ten years, and it is necessary to apply for renewal within one month before the expiration of the document. If the documents are damaged or lost, it is necessary to apply for replacement or reissue in a timely manner.

  5. Foreign nationals who have been approved for permanent residency in China must accumulate a minimum of three months of residency in China each year after obtaining permanent residency status. For those who are unable to reside in China for a cumulative period of three months per year due to actual needs, approval must be obtained from the public security department or bureau of the province/autonomous region/municipality where the long-term residence is located. However, the cumulative residence time in China must not be less than one year within five years.

  Special Reminder:

The Ministry of Public Security may revoke a foreigner's permanent residence permit in China and confiscate his or her Foreigner's Permanent Residence Permit or declare it invalid if an alien with permanent residence permit in China has one of the following circumstances: ① may cause harm to national security and interests; ② Those who have been sentenced to deportation by the people's court; ③ Obtaining permanent residency in China through illegal means such as providing false materials; ④ Those who have resided in China for less than three months or less than one year within five years without approval.
