The first step is to get a passport. Their parents should apply for a new passport or international travel document from the embassy or consulate of their home country in China.

The second step is to apply for the visa document. Within 60 days, after obtaining a passport or international travel document, you should promptly go to the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau of the Public Security Bureau where you live to apply for a legal visa. In fact, without a valid visa, the child cannot legally leave China. Those who fail to submit a visa application within 60 days of birth will also be subject to administrative penalties.

Situation 2: What procedures do I need to go through if one of my parents is a Chinese citizen?

The People's Republic of China does not recognize dual nationality for Chinese citizens. Any person born in China whose parents are both Chinese citizens or one of whom is a Chinese citizen shall have Chinese nationality.
